My name is Shaily. I’m a fitness trainer with a focus in functional and body composition training. My fitness journey started when I, as a teenager, learned I wanted to look “thinner.” The wrong mindset cost me many years of unsuccessful weight loss attempts and heartbreaking stories. I used to fail at my fitness journey because 1. I looked for easy and FAST results, and 2. I had a WRONG goal in mind! (Which consequently cost me a lot of money, disappointment, doubting myself, and depression!). In 2014 when I was in graduate school, I decided to find the right, scientific way that worked, no matter how long or how hard. I was determined to learn and take the right path. I began by reading tons of academic articles in nutrition and exercise. The more I read, the more I realized how wrong I and all the people advertising the fast solutions are! Taking the right path, I learned, not only is it doable to achieve amazing and sustainable results but that even more can be achieved! I learned the value of strength, agility, and power. I focused on smaller steps, and before I knew it, I smashed my goals and a lot more than that! I wanted to lose pounds, but I gained muscles and abs, becoming not only leaner but stronger fitter, and all in all, happier than ever.
Since then, I have been studying and educating myself in nutrition and exercise science and have helped many clients reach their fitness goals. In 2019, I decided to take my passion for helping others reach their fitness goals one step further by becoming an official certified personal trainer. I completed an extensive course in personal training and became certified as a personal trainer from the US National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
